Mr. John C. Taylor, Public Affairs Officer

John C. Taylor arrived at the United States Consulate General in Sapporo, Japan in August 2009. As Public Affairs Officer his duties include outreach activities to promote understanding of American society and culture, coordinating exchange programs, and interacting with the media.

Mr. Taylor joined the United States Foreign Service in June 2003. Prior to arriving in Sapporo, he served as Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya, Indonesia. He has also worked as Vice Consul at the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden. Before joining the State Department he served for six years in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Taylor earned a Master of Business Administration from Brigham Young University (1995) and a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese language, also from BYU (1991).

Mr. Taylor is accompanied in Sapporo by his wife Miho and their four children, ages 18, 16, 10, and 5. He enjoys sports, music, and ice cream.
