Norm Capistrano, Management & Economic Officer
Norm Capistrano began his assignment at the U.S. Consulate General in Sapporo in June 2014. His duties include responsibility for the Management, Economic and Consular Sections.
Mr. Capistrano joined the U.S. Foreign Service in 2009. His first posting was at the U.S. Embassy in Baku, Azerbaijan where he served as General Services Officer. He then served in the Consular Section at the U.S Embassy in Tokyo, before beginning his present assignment in Sapporo.
Prior to joining the State Department, Mr. Capistrano worked for Bank of America, Global Corporate Investment Bank. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and Accounting from California State University, Fullerton, and a Master of Business Administration Degree in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona and Geneva, Switzerland.
