The U.S. Consulate General Sapporo works to promote close ties between the United States and northern Japan. The Sapporo consular district includes Hokkaido and four prefectures in the Tohoku region: Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi and Akita. The Consulate General's commercial team actively supports companies interested in marketing U.S. goods and services throughout northern Japan.
