Admiral Doran Visits Sapporo

Sapporo welcomed COMPACFLT Admiral Walter Doran on his farewell tour. The delegation underwent a whirlwind schedule of formal meetings and social events in and around the city and was warmly received by all its hosts. Adm. Doran paid courtesy calls to Sapporo Mayor Fumio Ueda and Hokkaido Governor Harumi Takahashi, conveying his gratitude for their efforts and commitment to bilateral relations, his belief in the importance of the relationship, and appreciation for Japanese hospitality during his command. Adm. Doran also met with Otaru Mayor Katsumaro Yamada at the CG Residence. Finally, Adm. Doran was able to reconnect and spend time with old friends Mr. Yoshiro Itoh and Mr. Yousuke Yasuda.
