Cycling in Tohoku for 3.11 Recovery
Sep. 13 - Ambassador Caroline Kennedy completed the 95 km course in the Tour de Tohoku, a cycling event organized to support the reconstruction of Tohoku following the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011.
Hina Doll Donor Receives Thanks in Sapporo
March 16 - Sapporo Principal Officer JoEllen Gorg delivered a thank you card from Ambassador Caroline Kennedy to Tsuyako Matsumoto, who donated a hina doll collection to the White House 53 years ago.
Ambassador Kennedy's Visit to Hokkaido
Feb. 14 - On her first official trip to Hokkaido, Ambassador Kennedy visited the Ainu Museum in Shiraoi with Hokkaido Governor Harumi Takahashi to learn about Ainu history and culture, and how the government is working to preserve and share the Ainu indigenous culture.
